Charlotte Gillies came home to Brisbane for Easter from her studies in Canberra to accept the 2023 Zonta Club of Brisbane Young Women in Public Affairs Award.

A first year student of International Security at the Australian National University, Charlotte won the $500 award which recognises service to the community and an alignment with the objectives of Zonta International.

A former student at Hillbrook Anglican School, Charlotte was involved in school governance on student council, as a participant in UN activities and a key member of the school’s Z club. Her referees testimonials were excellent.

Charlotte received her award at the Club’s April dinner meeting and is photographed with Leneen Forde, AC, a former Zonta International President who inspired the creation of the award as a way to recognise our emerging women leaders.
