We understand that education plays a key role in advancing women, girls, and communities.

Supporting girls education is a core mission of Zonta International, and all Zonta clubs globally.

Our Local High School & University Awards

  • Zonta Education Award

    The Zonta Education Award assists underprivileged girls in high schools to pursue STEM. The award provides $750 over two years to selected disadvantaged schools in Greater Brisbane to support their education.

  • Kingston Learning College Award

    The Kingston Learning College Education Award is a $2000 bursary encouraging young women to pursue tertiary education, access TAFE and other programs by covering up-front fees and providing application and interview training.

  • Leneen Forde Zonta Scholarship

    A $2,000 bursary for a female, full-time undergraduate student at Griffith University Logan Campus who has three semesters of good academic progress and can demonstrate significant financial hardship affecting their studies. The award name honours Leneen Forde AC, to reflect her Zonta legacy and contribution to Griffith University.

  • Babette Stephens Memorial Award

    The Babette Stephens Memorial Award honors Babette Stephens, an esteemed actress, Brisbane Repertory Theatre member, and inaugural Zonta Club of Brisbane President. Established in memory of Babette, the $1000 award is presented annually to a second-year acting student at QUT displaying professionalism, a strong work ethic, and exceptional performance skills.

  • Dr Helen Row Rural Health Scholarship in Medicine

    The Dr. Helen Row Scholarship honours Dr. Row, a Club Charter Member for her contributions to child psychiatry. The scholarship encourages and supports female medical students in financial need, who are undertaking studies in rural areas and wish to pursue a career in rural medicine.

  • Women in STEM Scholarship

    The Women in STEM Scholarship encourages women to pursue education, career opportunities and leadership roles in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. The prize is $1000AUD for demonstrating outstanding potential and commitment to the STEM field.

At local and international levels, we support empowering women and girls through education.

In addition to our local bursaries and scholarships, Zonta International has several education awards for women in business, public affairs and STEM.
