Reach out to Beyond DV

Zonta Club of Brisbane member Borsca Vass and Beyond DV CEO Carolyn Robinson

Beyond DV founder and CEO Carolyn Robinson was a special guest at the Zonta Club of Brisbane dinner meeting on 6 July.

Carolyn spoke to the club about the extensive work her organisation is doing to help victim-survivors in their recovery from domestic and family violence. Club member Borsca Vass introduced Carolyn to our club and in her introduction noted Beyond DV’s key aim to give hope to victim-survivors by helping them re-establish themselves.

This comes through a range of services across the five pillars of recovery – social, financial, health, legal and housing. So you will see services such as giving women a lift with getting their hair styled to helping them with their finances to giving them a safe place to meet and gather.

It was this kind of safe place – the Hope Hub based at Carindale in Brisbane that has been seen as such a simple but clever way to enable women at risk to be able to meet people who can help in a safe environment.

In her address to the club Carolyn also spoke of other initiatives that Beyond DV is delivering including an app for teens about healthy relationships. For more information on their programs go here and to the Beyond DV website.
